The Library continually strives to build and maintain a collection that supports the range of courses and programs taught within the College and that furthers the strategic initiatives of the institution. Our Selection Criteria are explained below. Please note that only the fields with an asterisk (*) are required. If we need more information, we’ll get in touch with you. Selection Criteria

Provided that one (or more) of the following criteria are met, the library will typically acquire titles that are recommended/requested by faculty members, staff or students:
  • The title is listed as required or recommended reading for a course.
  • The item is directly related to the subject matter of a course, and contains current information or insights that are not represented within existing holdings.
  • The book is considered a classic or seminal work in a particular area of study.
  • Where applicable, the resource is academic in orientation, and/or provides credible, verifiable evidence to support its ideas.
  • The book itself is the subject of wide or current public interest or debate.
  • The item is not gratuitously prejudicial towards any specific (or marginalized) segment(s) of the population.
