Visitors to the Library must:

• Sanitize hands on entry
• Wear a mask at all times
• Maintain a 1-metre distance from others

Above all, please be patient and respectful towards the staff and library users.

Borrowing
Students and faculty members may borrow books from Reserves and the General Collection as usual .

Returns
All books should be returned through the external book drop. The slot is in the door to the right of the main entrance, at the top of the ramp. Returned items are quarantined for 24 hours.

Ask a Librarian

Messages sent through Ask a Librarian are sent to a central mailbox that is continually monitored during opening hours. Messages are answered at the earliest opportunity, and this option is best when you have simple questions or requests.

Please note that any messages received outside of Library hours will be answered on the following business day.

Library Instruction

The Librarians are available to provide both in-person and online, synchronous Library Instruction Sessions to your class.

To arrange a session, please complete our instruction request form.

We recommend that you make an appointment to meet with your Librarian, to discuss the details of your session(s).

Reference

There is always a Reference Librarian available at the Reference Desk during opening hours.

If you need help to develop a research topic, search for sources, or navigate the research process, we encourage you to request an appointment to meet with a Librarian in-person, online, or by phone.

Study Spaces
The Library is now open for individual and group study. There are three closed study rooms that can accommodate two or more groups (6E.01, 6E.03 and 6E.04) and two, single-group study spaces that can be reserved in advance (6C.01 and 6C.03).

Computers
Networked computers are available for students who need to attend an online class, and have not brought a personal computer to campus.

Webcams and headsets are available to borrow at the Circulation Desk. Setup instructions are posted at each workstation.

Printing/Photocopying

• One printer (5th floor) is available to library visitors.
• Two photocopiers will be accessible – one can receive/process print jobs in colour.
• Print jobs can be sent from networked computers, or wirelessly from laptops and personal devices: https://dc2.dawsoncollege.qc.ca.

Print Balance Station
The Library’s print balance charging station is not available this semester. To refill your print account, locate the “Print Balance Account” link inside the MyDawson portal. A credit card is required; and a minimum charge of $5.00 applies.

A large proportion of the library’s resources – including BOOKS, FILMS, and REFERENCE materials – are accessible electronically.
